Community projects

Mayfield Arts is regularly involved in organising and participating in community events in collaboration with local organisations and agencies such as Cork City Council, Foroige, Community Education Network and Community Training Centres.
Through these events, we enhance a sense of community by engaging with people both as participants and spectators.
We encourage people of all ages and abilities to positively contribute to their communities in a creative way, while having lots of fun!

We are also regularly approached by various festivals and events to create work. We use the opportunities for our young artists to share their creativity and opinions with the public. We have participated in the Festival of World Cultures as well as Cork’s Midsummer Festival.
We also regularly work on ‘Summer Fun Nights’ running art activities for young people from the local community on Bonfire Night.

In 2014, We were involved in ‘A Northside Christmas’ which brought together a number of groups, schools and organisations based in Cork city’s Northside to create two ‘Winter wonderlands’ in Blackpool and Mayfield.
